Personal background

Welcome

The Dances of Universal Peace are a powerful group spiritual practice originating in Sufism. We sing or chant sacred phrases while dancing in a circle. I lead from the centre, accompanying on guitar. Sometimes we alternate male and female voices, sing in harmony, or dance in silence. By opening our voices and hearts, dancing together and honouring sacred traditions of many different peoples and times, we may experience feelings of connectedness, joy, playfulness, healing and strength. My repertoire includes dances inspired by Hindu, Christian, Jewish, Islamic, Sikh, Buddhist, Celtic, Native American and Polynesian traditions. All aspects are carefully taught, and newcomers are well cared for!

It's a very friendly group. Everyone is made welcome, and competence in dancing is not a requirement!"
